Sola Salons

Sola Salons is a suite rental business rather than a traditional salon with staff. It leases individual suites to independent professionals, and the company says it has more than 21,000 beauty and wellness professionals, 750-plus locations across the U.S. and Canada, and more than 20 years of working with professionals. It also says it has a community of more than 20,000 independent business owners.

The Greenville Downtown location sits in the Prisma Health Building at 300 E. McBee Ave, close to Camperdown Plaza, the Publix at McBee Station and the Grand Bohemian Hotel. Each suite has a fully enclosed glass door with its own lock and key, and comes with full-spectrum lighting, a shampoo bowl, a styling chair, a private bathroom and instant hot water. Shared amenities include 24/7 security, janitorial service, on-site laundry and a spacious breakroom.

Renters pay one weekly fee that covers utilities and Wi-Fi, and the company says there are no surprise fees. Each renter receives a key, sets their own work hours within the building's access hours, which vary by location, and chooses their own services, prices and retail brands, keeping the profits from both.

Each renter runs an independent business from a private suite, setting their own prices, products and schedule while Sola Salons supplies the space, utilities and building services.
