Sola Salons is a suite rental business. Rather than employing stylists, it leases private, fully equipped studios to independent beauty professionals who run their own businesses. The company says it is the largest and fastest-growing salon studio business, and reports more than 20,000 beauty professionals in its community across 700+ locations nationwide.

This Fig Garden Village location, at 756 W. Shaw Ave., Suite 101 in Fresno, rents space to professionals across beauty and wellness: barbers, brow technicians, estheticians, hair-extension artists, hairstylists, health and wellness practitioners, laser hair removal providers, lash technicians, makeup artists, massage therapists, nail technicians, permanent makeup artists, tattoo artists and waxing specialists. A medical spa room is available as well.

The company says its aim is a safe, inclusive space, with support for the people renting from it. Renters receive a start-up manual with checklists, forms and tips for setting up a salon suite business, including guidance on obtaining a salon license and other licenses and permits, and on studio setup such as insurance, equipment and paint. Credit card processing tips and retail support with distributor contacts are also provided.

Renters have access to liability insurance and disability insurance, the latter available in certain areas. Continuing education programs are offered to renters, along with discounts on retail products and special offers for online scheduling. Community events such as cocktail parties, family picnics and other gatherings are hosted for renters.

Each location is independently owned and operated, and so is each professional or business renting a suite there. Sola Salons says it is not responsible for employment and personnel matters at franchise locations.

The company aims to provide a safe, inclusive space and to support its renters as independent business owners.
