Sola Salons rents studio suites to people who run their own beauty and wellness businesses. Rather than employing stylists, it provides a space where each renter operates independently, with their own clients, prices and schedule.

Each suite has a glass door with its own lock and key, so the renter has exclusive use of the room. Suites come equipped with full-spectrum lighting, a shampoo bowl and a styling chair, and the renter decides on the artwork, music, furniture and decor. The site describes 24/7 security at the building.

Renters pay one weekly fee that covers utilities and Wi-Fi. According to the company, a suite can cost about the same as renting a chair or booth. Renters set their own service and product prices, choose which brands and products they sell, and keep all of their profits, including product sales. They also set their own work hours, within the access hours that vary by location.

The company says its community includes more than 20,000 independent business owners. Each Sola location is independently owned and operated, and each salon professional or business at a location is independently owned and operated as well. Sola Salons states that it is not responsible for the operations, employment or personnel matters of franchise owners or independent professionals.

Sola Salons works as a landlord for independent professionals, so each renter runs their own business, sets their own prices and chooses their own products.

Each suite is a private room that the renter can decorate with their own artwork, music and furniture.
