Sola Salons is a suite rental business rather than a salon with its own staff. It partners with independent beauty and wellness professionals who run their own businesses from private studios. The Burnsville location contains 28 private studios that are leased to independent beauty and wellness professionals. Tenants can be hairstylists, barbers, estheticians, nail technicians, massage therapists, lash and brow artists, makeup artists, tattoo artists, spa professionals and other independent practitioners. Studios are available as single or double window suites. Hairstylist suites are fitted with a styling chair, shampoo bowl, sink, mirror and cabinetry. Lash suites are private studios set up for focused lash appointments, and artists working there may offer classic sets, volume, mega volume, lash lifts and tinting.

Each suite has a private glass door with its own lock and key, and tenants can customize the space from floor to ceiling, including paint, decor, furniture and logo display. Tenants pay one weekly fee that the company says covers all utilities and Wi-Fi, with no surprise fees. Hairstylist suite utilities, Wi-Fi and laundry access are included in the flat weekly rate.

Tenants set their own service and product prices and keep the profits. They also choose which brands and products they sell and keep all of the profit from them. Lash tenants bring their own equipment, and the suite provides the space. Suite sizes vary by location, and some tenants share a suite and split shifts, though suite-sharing availability differs from one location to another. Access hours also vary by location, although suites offer 24/7 access overall.
