Canyon Place is a salon suite building rather than a traditional salon with staff. Each studio is leased to an independent professional, who operates their own business inside it. The company says it works with a community of more than 20,000 independent salon business owners.
Each studio has its own locking glass door and key, so tenants control their own space. Suites come with a styling chair and shampoo bowl, and tenants can decorate them as they like, including with artwork, music and furniture.
The building covers the basics for tenants: utilities, Wi-Fi, 24/7 security, full-spectrum lighting, sound-insulated walls, ventilation, a breakroom, bathroom facilities, on-site laundry and janitorial service. Tenants pay one weekly fee that includes utilities and Wi-Fi.
Tenants set their own service and product prices and keep what they earn. They can also choose the brands and products they sell in their suite. The company says the cost of leasing a suite is about the same as renting a chair or booth in a traditional salon.
Prospective tenants can book a tour of the location through the company's website. Suite access hours vary by location, so people considering a studio should ask about hours when they visit.
Sola Salons provides the space and shared services, while each independent professional runs their own business, sets their own prices and chooses their own products.
Each studio is a private room that its tenant can decorate to their own taste.
