Sola Salons

Sola Salons rents studio suites to independent beauty professionals, and its stated mission is to help those professionals own their salon businesses. The Aurora location is one of its franchise sites. Each Sola Salon Studios location is independently owned and operated, and the company says it has more than 20,000 independent business owners in its community.

Each suite is a private room with its own glass door, an individual lock and key, and full-spectrum lighting. Suites include a shampoo bowl and a styling chair. The location has 24/7 security, and suite access is around the clock, though hours vary by location. Renters decide the artwork, music, furniture and decor in their suite.

Renters pay one weekly fee that covers utilities and Wi-Fi. They set their own service and product prices, choose the brands and products they sell, and keep all of their profits.

The site is on the south side of the Aurora Mall, near a Starbucks, a Sbarro and a JoAnn's Fabric, which makes it easy to find from the interstate.

The business is built around independent ownership: each renter runs a salon of their own inside the suite, setting prices, products and decor.
