Sola leases private salon suites to independent professionals rather than employing stylists. Each suite has its own glass door with an individual lock and key, and tenants receive a key so they can set their own work hours. Access hours vary by location.

Each Sola Salon Studios location is independently owned and operated. According to the company, it has more than 20,000 independent business owners in its community.

Suites are equipped with full-spectrum lighting, a shampoo bowl and a styling chair. Shared spaces include bathroom facilities, janitorial service, on-site laundry and a breakroom. Many studios at the Artesia location have windows, and the site has ample parking.

Tenants pay one weekly fee that covers utilities and Wi-Fi. They set their own service and product prices, choose the brands and products they sell, and keep all profits from both.

The Artesia site occupies the south-east side of the Gridley Road and 183rd Street intersection, with Los Cerritos Center directly opposite. Nearby businesses include Nordstrom, Apple, PF Changs, the Cheesecake Factory, 24 Hour Fitness and Harkin Theaters.
