Sola Salon Studios Pearl District

The Lloyd District location in Portland has 30 individual salon studios on the first floor of the Elwood building, part of the Hassalo on 8th complex. Underground and street parking are available. The studios are rented to independent professionals who run their own business from them, rather than working as staff in a shared salon.

Each studio comes move-in ready with a styling chair, a shampoo bowl, cabinets and shelving. Studios have sliding and locking doors, and each has a glass door with its own lock and key. Renters have 24/7 access to their studio, though access hours vary by location.

Each suite rental comes with one weekly fee that also covers utilities and internet access. The building provides around-the-clock guards, full-spectrum lights, soundproofed walls, an on-site washer and dryer area, and ventilation. Renters also get a roomy break area, restrooms and cleaning staff. Renters set their own service and product prices, pick and sell their own brands, and keep everything they earn, including all income from product sales. According to the business, a personal salon suite typically costs about the same as renting a chair or booth.

The business says renters become owners of their own boutique salon and that it has a community of more than 20,000 independent business owners.
