Sola Salon Studios runs its Bohemia building as a home for independent beauty professionals who want their own space rather than a chair in a shared room. The site describes each location as independently owned and operated, and says the wider network includes more than 20,000 independent business owners.

Each of the 24 suites is a private, sound-insulated studio with an individual glass door, its own lock and key, and full-spectrum lighting. Renters receive a key and set their own working hours, though access hours vary by location. The building also has 24/7 security and on-site laundry.

Before a renter moves in, the studio is prepared with custom painting and installation of items the renter brings, at no cost to the renter. Renters may then decorate the suite with their own artwork, music, furniture and decor.

Renters pay one weekly fee that covers all utilities and Wi-Fi, with no additional charges. The site says the cost of a suite is roughly the same as renting a chair or booth elsewhere. Liability insurance coverage is included for most services.

Renters set their own service and product prices, choose the brands and products they sell, and keep all of their profits, including 100% of product sales. The building sits on the North Service Road of Sunrise Highway between Lakeland and Locust Avenues, with a Starbucks and a CosmoProf in the shopping center next door.

The business gives each renter an independent suite and leaves pricing, product choice and scheduling to the professional who works in it.
