Snips for Pips

Snips for Pips is designed around children's haircuts from the very first one. Each haircut station is shaped like a vehicle, including a fire truck, a train, a police car and a taxi, and every station has its own television with Netflix available. The salon describes its visits as fun and entertaining for the whole family.

The salon has a separate teen room with Xbox consoles and games for older kids waiting or getting cut. An adult room has TVs, Netflix and an Xbox One, so parents can have their own haircut or styling while their children are looked after in the salon.

For a child's first haircut, the salon provides a certificate that includes a lock of hair. The salon also sells kid-friendly hair products and accessories.

Booking is handled in a few ways. Online booking is only for haircut appointments, and all other services have to be booked by calling the salon. Online accounts must be created under a parent's name. Online cancellations need 24 hours' notice, and later cancellations or changes must be made by phone. Clients who neither cancel nor show up are barred from booking online. Clients more than 5 minutes late may be skipped and not guaranteed service, and appointments can occasionally run a few minutes behind. Booking several appointments with different stylists at the same time requires a phone call.

Tips are paid in cash. The salon accepts all major credit cards as well as cash. Hours run Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 AM to 6 PM, Thursday from 11 AM to 7 PM, Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM, Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 1 PM. The salon is closed on Mondays.

The salon aims for a relaxed, playful haircut experience that works for the whole family, with a focus on children from babies through toddlers.

Vehicle-themed chairs, screens at every station and separate teen and adult rooms give the salon a playful, family-friendly feel.
