SMR.9 STUDIO

SMR.9 Studio is a nail studio at 3 Center Plaza, GC-28, in Boston. The studio describes its aim as making each appointment feel relaxed, personal and a little indulgent, and it says it works to keep natural nails healthy while building long-lasting sets shaped to each client's taste.

The menu is organized by method. Gel-x full set extensions and liquid or hard gel enhancements add length and structure, with three options in each. Structure gel, a soft gel overlay, is meant to help guard against breakage. Dipping powder is offered as a finish that cures without a UV lamp. A classic gel manicure covers nail shaping, cuticle care, gel polish and a glossy top coat.

Optional add-ons let clients change length, shape, finish, cuticle care or removal, and extra time can be added to a set. Nail art runs from minimal accents to detailed designs. For custom work, the studio asks clients to send inspiration photos two to three days before the visit. It cannot promise an exact recreation of a reference image.

Booking is required for every service, including removals and designs. A $50 deposit secures an appointment and is applied to the total, but it is non-refundable. Cancellations or changes with less than 12 hours' notice, and no-shows, are charged the full scheduled amount, and a new deposit is needed to rebook. Clients get a 15-minute grace period; later arrivals may have the service shortened or moved, and a 30% fee can apply after 20 minutes. Because space is limited, extra guests are only allowed with prior approval. The studio may decline nails that are severely damaged, infected or open, and work done at another salon may need to be removed first.

If a set chips within five days, the studio will touch it up at no charge when the client messages it on Instagram. Refunds are not given for design changes, personal preference or normal wear. The studio accepts cash, credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Tap to Pay, Zelle, Cash App and Apple Cash. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday, 11 AM to 5 PM.
