Smooth Sensation is an electrolysis studio founded by Anca Danciu, a licensed electrologist who trained at the California Electrology Academy. The studio is at Sky Canyon Drive in Murrieta, inside Lush Skin Studio, and draws clients from across the Inland Empire, including Menifee, Temecula, Hemet, Perris, and Lake Elsinore.
The studio offers electrolysis for facial hair, body hair, and hair removal ahead of surgery, using thermolysis, blend, and galvanic electrolysis. Sessions can be booked for 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes, or for two hours or more. The 15-minute session is listed for returning clients only.
Most visits begin with a consultation. New clients can book a free initial consultation through the website or the GlossGenius page, where a 30-minute first-time consultation is also listed. During treatment, a fine sterile probe is placed in each follicle opening and energy is applied to stop regrowth, after which the treated hair is lifted out with tweezers. Numbing cream is available if needed, and clients may feel a brief zap lasting from a fraction of a second to a few seconds.
Because hair grows in cycles, several sessions are needed so that each follicle is treated at the right stage of growth. Visible reduction typically begins within the first few months. Total time depends on the area, hair depth and density, and individual growth cycle, and is discussed at consultation. Previous hair removal methods, hormonal influences, stress, and certain medications can affect progress, and fine hairs that mature later can be treated as they appear. The studio also accepts clients who have had laser for regrowth or who have hair colors laser cannot remove.
Booking requires a card on file. First-time clients must complete an intake form no later than 48 hours before the appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice incur a 25% fee based on the originally booked time, and no-shows incur a 50% fee on the same basis. The salon describes electrolysis as the only FDA-recognized method of permanent hair removal and says its treatments are FDA-approved and that electrolysis has been trusted for over 100 years. It also says electrolysis works on all hair colors and skin tones, unlike laser, which it describes as less effective on light, gray, or red hair.
Sessions are built around the growth cycle, so several visits are planned together, with treatment time set at consultation based on the area and each client's hair.
