Smith + Simms Hair Co. Des Peres

Smith + Simms Hair Co. has two studios in the St. Louis area: a Ladue location in Lester's Plaza at 9916 Clayton Rd, and a Des Peres location in Des Peres Commons at 11725 Manchester Rd. The salon describes hair care as an art form and says its atmosphere is inclusive and welcoming. Services can be booked at either location.

Color is a central part of the menu. The Customized Color group covers single process color, highlights and French balayage, and color transformations begin with a complimentary consultation. A haircut or blow dry can be added to a color appointment. Extensions are offered with Bellami Professional or Kacey Welch Method hair, and extension services also start with a complimentary consultation.

Cuts fall under Tailored Cuts and are available regardless of gender, with every haircut including a shampoo, blow dry and style. The Styling + Pampering group adds blow dries, special event styling, L'Oreal Professionnel and Kerastase Fusio-Dose treatments, and keratin smoothing services. Special event styling does not include a blow dry, so clients should arrive with clean, dry hair.

The Curated Esthetics menu is available only at the Ladue location and includes facials, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, waxing and tinting, and Reiki healing. The salon says it was named a L'Oreal Professionnel U.S. Top 10 Salon in 2025 and a Top 100 Salon in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Ladue is open Monday through Thursday 9am to 8pm, Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. Des Peres is open Tuesday through Thursday 9am to 8pm, Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. Clients can book online through the salon's Phorest page. Cancellations or changes need at least 24 hours' notice, and later cancellations may be charged 50% of the scheduled service. Emergencies are handled case by case, and gift cards can be bought online.

According to the salon, training and professional service are closely connected, and its professionals are described as highly educated.

The Ladue salon is described as modern and comfortable, while the Des Peres space uses clean lines, neutral tones and a mix of textures.
