SmartSKN Labs operates the headquarters and lab at 100 Cummings Center in Beverly, Massachusetts, and visits there are by appointment and can be booked online. Guests are welcome, and filming or photos are allowed. The company describes the lab as the first AI-powered robotic skincare lab in the U.S.

A skin analysis at the Beverly lab costs $45, takes about 10 minutes, and the fee is credited toward any skincare purchase. The handheld analyzer uses 60x magnification across five areas of the face and a bioimpedance sensor to measure moisture and oil. It reports on eight biomarkers: sensitivity, pigmentation, wrinkles, redness, pores, oil, dryness and blemishes. Each scan yields a Skin Code, a written biomarker analysis and magnified images that can be shared with the client. The company says the scan is non-invasive and does not pierce, peel or treat the skin, and it claims 98.3% analysis accuracy.

A Custom Formulation appointment takes about 30 minutes at the Beverly lab, where the formula is compounded on site while the client watches. Personalized formulas are built from an adaptive base, an oil blend and bioactives chosen from eight complexes: Brightening, Moisturizing, Sebum Control, Pore Care, Lifting, Elastin, Calming and Acne Control. Formulas are compounded to order in the U.S. and made fresh after ordering, usually arriving within 3 to 5 business days. The site says the formulations are developed in Korea with cosmeceutical-grade ingredients. The company says its formulas are clinically proven and cites studies at the Skin Clinical Trial Center in Seoul, reporting no adverse effects or irritation across those studies.

Products are formulated without parabens, formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, PEG compounds, added fragrance or parfum, SLES sulfates, coal tar dyes, petrolatum or triclosan. The line has three products: the Essence Serum, a lightweight hydrating formula starting at $85; the Ampoule, a concentrated formula aimed at primary concerns, starting at $95; and the Lotion, a moisturizer adjusted to barrier, hydration and oil needs, starting at $75. A set of all three products costs $199, regularly $255. The SmartSKN AI Skin Analyzer device is a one-time $999 purchase with no monthly fees, and Klarna, Affirm and Afterpay financing is available for it. Shipping within the United States is free, and the device ships within 1 to 3 business days.

Personalized products cannot be restocked or resold because each is made for one person. Reformulations are offered within 30 days of an order if a formula is not working for the client. The analyzer may be returned within 30 days of delivery if it meets the return conditions, with return shipping paid by the company, and it carries a 12-month warranty against defects. Formula subscriptions can be cancelled for renewals not yet billed. Visits can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 24 hours ahead for a full refund. The site says SmartSKN providers are independent studios and licensed professionals, not employees or affiliates of SmartSKN.
