Slay by Shay operates from Suite 800 at 7807 S. Cooper St. in Arlington, with services grouped into cuts, relaxers, color, treatments, hair design, eyebrows, silk press, weave services and classes. The salon is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 AM to 6 PM, Thursday from 9 AM to 6 PM, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 6 PM, and it is closed Monday, Saturday and Sunday.

New clients are asked to book a consultation before their first service. The Slaycode Consultation takes 15 minutes and costs $25, with a $20 deposit required from new clients. Clients who skip a consultation before their first visit pay a consultation fee that is added to their service.

The Same Day Squeeze In is a 10-minute, $50 service for short, relaxed hair only. Weaves are not accepted for it, and clients must speak with a stylist directly to book it. Buy Now, Pay Later is available in person for bookings from $50 to $4,000, but approval must be completed before the appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours of an appointment, and no-shows, are charged a 30% fee.

The Transformation Service changes long to medium-length hair into a pixie cut. It takes 90 minutes, costs $450, and includes a relaxer, deep conditioner and a basic rinse color in black or brown. New clients booking it pay a $50 deposit. The One on One Class is a separate offering that covers pixie cut styling, from product knowledge and cutting with different tools to curling, molding and upkeep. It costs $1,000, runs 250 minutes, includes lunch, and requires a $500 deposit from new clients.

Consultations come first for color, relaxers and silk press, and each service lists its timing, deposit and fee rules up front.
