SKN Studio operates from inside First Resort Chiropractic in Excelsior Springs. Skin care is its core, led by owner Danielle Taylor, a licensed esthetician who holds CIDESCO certification. Waxing, lash and brow services, massage and spray tanning are also offered.

About

The SKN-60 facial is customized after a consultation and may combine exfoliation, massage, targeted masks and LED light therapy, and the studio labels it its most popular facial. Chemical peels are chosen after a skin analysis during the appointment, and they are not offered to first-time facial clients, clients with compromised skin, or people using certain active products unless approved. Microneedling is available as a single session or a series of three, and the studio notes that redness similar to a mild sunburn may last 24 to 72 hours afterward.

Waxing covers the face, brows, underarms, arms, chest, back, legs and the Brazilian area, with clients able to choose full removal or a strip or triangle for the Brazilian. Brow shaping, tinting, lamination and a combined brow makeover and lash lift and tint are offered too, with lash extensions in classic, hybrid and volume styles. The studio also has a men's facial, a facial for children 12 and under where a parent stays in the room, a pregnancy-friendly topical facial, Swedish massage, back treatments and airbrush spray tanning.

The studio's owner wants skin care to feel approachable rather than intimidating, with treatments chosen after consultation and analysis.
