SkinTrust

SkinTrust is a private, appointment-only skincare practice at West College Drive in Palos Heights. Jill Stetson founded it in April 2013 and works one-on-one with each client in a quiet, private setting. The practice reports having assisted more than 3,500 clients.

Services cover facials and peels, express treatments, men's services, and injectables and advanced treatments provided through a nurse practitioner. Ask the Esthetician is a one-hour consultation, by phone or in person, that reviews skin concerns, products in use, goals, and questions about skin care, makeup and injectables. Of its $75 fee, $35 can be applied toward a future skin care service.

Professional facials follow a repair, rebuild and protect approach customized to each client's skin. Suggested visit frequency is individualized, with every two to four weeks for repair, monthly for rebuilding, and every three to four months for protection. Treatments may draw on microcurrent, ultrasound or oxygen therapy, and products are chosen based on science, clinical research and ingredient quality. The practice says it does not pressure clients to buy products.

For anti-aging, the salon builds each plan around the same three stages, and the menu can draw on dermaplaning, microcurrent, and several other tools: galvanic current, LED light treatment, nano-infusion, custom masks, and corrective ingredients aimed at specific concerns. The Fresh Face Experience is a free 30-minute session in which a makeup look is tailored to the client, who then leaves with a brief daily skincare routine and product recommendations. The Mother of the Bride (or Groom) package costs $395 for three visits and includes three Intraceuticals 3-Layer Hyaluronic Acid treatments plus take-home care products. The salon suggests booking it at least six weeks ahead of the wedding.
