About

SkinScience by Katy is a medical spa and skin care practice in Houston, owned by Katy Doke. Her path into aesthetics started in skin care: she worked as an esthetician for 16 years before becoming an aesthetic nurse in 2021, and the practice brings both sides of that experience together.

Choices range from a customized facial built around a client's own concerns, to treatments that combine dermaplaning or microdermabrasion with light physician-dispensed peels, extractions, massage and red light. Some facials add electroporation, hydrodermabrasion, microcurrent skin tightening or radio frequency tightening, and the listings describe what each step includes. Beyond facials, the studio offers chemical peels, from a medium-depth Transitional Peel by Societe listed at $200, which involves about three to four days of light peeling, to a TCA peel from Italy that the site says involves no downtime. Laser resurfacing, Botox, dermal filler, PDO threads and Sculptra injections are also listed.

Booking can be done online through Vagaro. First-time SkinPen clients are asked to contact the office by email or phone so a consultation can be arranged first. The studio is open Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays, and offers free parking and disabled access.

Treatment starts with the client's goals and uses medical-grade products and a range of skin care treatments, adjusted to the individual.
