Skinovation is a San Diego practice focused on hair regeneration. It brings together microneedling, acupuncture, and herbal medicine, with treatment plans tailored to each client's thinning hair. Before booking, clients can take a free 15-minute consultation. Acupuncture visits last 60 minutes. A first acupuncture visit includes a consultation, an exam and treatment. Follow-up visits may also include moxibustion, cupping, aromatherapy and infrared light therapy, with no extra charge for these. Herbal consultations run 45 minutes and address diet, lifestyle and herbal remedies.

The Herbal Microneedling Hair Regeneration treatment uses microneedling to create microchannels, paired with herbal treatment, and monthly sessions are recommended. The Scalp Soak and Massage combines an herbal soak, scalp massage, and red light therapy, and is recommended weekly or biweekly. Between visits, clients can buy a powdered herbal Topical Hair Regrowth Solution, mixed with water at home, with each supply lasting four weeks.

The practice says microneedling can also address acne scars, fine lines, age spots, and wrinkles, and that visible changes may begin two to three weeks after the first session. It describes most hair regrowth clients noticing some change after a month and most seeing significant changes after two to three months of microneedling.
