About

Skin Deep Electrology is listed as an NJ licensed facility at 249 Main Street in Woodbridge. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 9am to 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Inquiries are answered within 24 hours.

Every new client starts with an in-person consultation, which is required before any treatment. At that visit the electrologist reviews the health history questionnaire the client completes and the client's goals, then builds a personalized treatment plan. The consultation fee is credited toward the first session. Clients who want general information first can book a complimentary 15-minute phone call or a complimentary 10-minute video call. A health history assessment must also be completed before the first appointment.

Treatment is booked as timed sessions. Listed prices are $40 for up to 10 minutes (the minimum), $60 for up to 15 minutes, $90 for up to 30 minutes, $120 for up to 45 minutes, $140 for up to 60 minutes, $170 for up to 75 minutes, $200 for up to 90 minutes and $230 for up to 120 minutes. Hair needs to be at least about 1/16 to 1/8 inch long, so clients who have shaved should allow 3 to 5 days for regrowth. Areas that were waxed or tweezed need treatment more often than shaved areas. Clients may use a topical numbing cream, which the electrologist removes just before treatment.

The method places a sterile probe into each follicle and applies a small electric current. The business uses galvanic, thermolysis (flash or lower-intensity) and blend modalities. It states that electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal, that it is 98% effective when performed during the hair's growth phase, and that laser-assisted removal is considered temporary. It describes a typical course as about 8 to 12 months, averaging around 12 months from start to finish. Redness, swelling, scabbing and possible bruising are described as normal afterward, and clients are asked not to pick scabs. Aftercare includes avoiding touching the area for 24 hours, avoiding makeup and moisturizer for 48 hours and limiting prolonged sun for 72 hours.

Policies cover timing and fees. A late arrival of 15 minutes carries a $15 fee and the session is shortened to match the arrival time, and arriving more than 25 minutes late means rescheduling. Appointments cancelled at least 24 hours ahead are free, while later cancellations carry a $40 fee. A no-call, no-show may be charged up to 80% of the booked appointment and may require approval for future bookings. A waitlist calendar is available for preferred times that are already booked.

Uses galvanic, thermolysis and blend methods, placing a sterile probe into each follicle and applying a small current to disable the cells that produce hair.
