About

Skin Basically works from Suite 2F on the second floor of a building on River Road in Fair Haven. The business focuses on European facials, microdermabrasion and peels, with facials starting at $150 and medical facials starting at $160.

Every facial includes cleansing, a massage and a pre-extraction masque. Treatments are adjusted to skin type and needs, and a desincrustation system is used to make extractions easier. The range includes the Healing Power of Water facial, which uses Avene thermal water and a hydrating compress; Moisture Booster for dry, dehydrated skin; Detox Deep Pore Cleansing for problem and teen skin; Dream Of Ideal Skin, an organic facial using enzymatic exfoliation; and Toning, Sculpting, Tightening Fix, a non-invasive smoothing treatment.

Medical facials use medical grade products that are free from fragrance, preservatives and colorants, and contain vitamins A, C and E, peptides and growth factors. Options include Resurfacing Facials, Advanced Clinical Rosacea Facial, Hydrating Facial, Problematic Skin Facial (with or without a peel), Sensitive Skin Facial and Revitalizing Vitamin C Facial. Chemical peels start at $160 and are typically done as a series, with anti-redness, anti-aging, discoloration and de-pigmenting, acne and blemish control, and décolleté peels available. A post peel treatment pack can be added for $30, and peel subscriptions are offered.

Beyond the face, the business offers a back treatment starting at $200 that includes cleansing, exfoliation, massage, masque and moisturizing, along with eye treatments at $50, eyelash tinting at $50 and eyebrow tinting at $20 using vegetable dye from Switzerland. A DMK Enzyme Treatment costs $300 and should be booked with two hours reserved. LightStim is available as a 10-treatment subscription for $400 or added to a facial, with 10-minute sessions.

Treatments are scheduled according to skin condition, with intervals left for healing. Appointment reminders go by text to clients who opt in, and clients can reply STOP to stop them. The business describes its setting as physically and spiritually relaxing and clean, and says the health and comfort of clients is its main concern and that it welcomes special requests. It also sells skin care products, including cleansers, toners, moisturizers, serums and eye gel, with shop prices from about $19 to $140. Gift certificates come in amounts from $50 to $250, are emailed within a few hours of purchase, can be used for any service or product, and do not expire. The home page says its skin care work is backed by more than 20 years of training under experts.
