Skin+ was founded by Carly Pilar Sanchez and focuses on stubborn acne. The studio helps clients work out why they are breaking out, starts treatment at the first appointment, and sets them up with a home-care system to follow. Prospective clients can take an online Acne Type Quiz to get a sense of their concerns before booking.
New clients book the New Client Acne Consultation, which includes both a consultation and the first treatment. Consultations can be done in person or virtually, and each plan is tailored. For inflamed acne, visits are usually every two weeks for about four months; for non-inflamed acne, the schedule usually runs about six months. After that first phase, most clients move to a monthly appointment to keep results in place. A Type 2 acne routine follows a KickStart phase for weeks one and two, a Bump Up phase for weeks three to eight, and a final routine from week eight onward. Clients are asked to stop their current products and use the Skin+ line at home, since the business designs its controlled home-care system so the products work together.
Once acne is under control, Skin+ addresses scarring. Corrective and Exosome Microneedling combines a glide serum, a corrective chemical peel and a soothing mask. Neuromodulator Microneedling targets a different set of concerns. Because microneedling is considered a medical treatment in Texas, a Good Faith Exam is required before the service. A first medical appointment includes a virtual visit with a Nurse Practitioner while numbing cream takes effect. TCA CROSS is a targeted chemical treatment for deep, narrow atrophic scars such as ice pick scars, and it should only be performed by a qualified medical professional within an appropriate protocol. The initial healing period commonly takes about seven to ten days, and sessions are commonly spaced four to six weeks apart, depending on the provider's recommendation.
The business says its product collection is curated under an Acne-Safe Commitment, and that its About page reports a 98% clear rate with clients, a figure the business reports itself. Its products are not evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Skin+ does not accept insurance or HSA/FSA cards. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged the full service cost, and arriving more than five minutes late is treated as a late cancellation with the full fee. No-shows are charged the full fee, and future bookings may require prepayment. All sales are final, with no returns, refunds, store credit or exchanges, and prices may change without notice. Clients may agree to before-and-after photos and testimonials for marketing, and can opt out by emailing the business.
Skin+ works out the reasons behind a client's acne, starts a customized treatment plan, and addresses scarring only after acne is under control. The business says its home-care system is controlled so its products work together.
