Sinti Hair Inc. launched its studio in Cicero, on Chicago's South Side. It operates inside Azula Hair Collective, a black brick building with a pink neon sign out front. The studio describes its atmosphere as quiet, private and calm, and works only through one-on-one sessions. Clients travel in from Hinsdale, La Grange, Oak Lawn, Stickney, Burbank, Bridgeview, Pilsen, Little Village, Brighton Park and Berwyn, plus other places close by.

Visits are by appointment only, and every new client books a free 30-minute consultation before treatment. Appointments can be booked online through Vagaro, where current pricing is also listed. Electrolysis sessions run 15, 30 or 60-plus minutes, and the longest appointment can last up to 4 hours. Before electrolysis, clients let hair grow to about 1/8 inch and avoid tweezing, waxing or threading between visits. Over-the-counter numbing cream can be applied 30 to 60 minutes before longer appointments, and a partner physician can provide a prescription option. Payment is due at each session.

Insurance is handled through itemized monthly receipts with CPT codes, which are emailed to clients to submit to their insurer. Coverage varies by insurer. A 48-hour cancellation policy applies, and a $25 fee is charged to the card on file for cancellations or no-shows. Free street parking is available outside the studio, and the nearest Pace bus stop is at 35th/58th Ave.

The studio also provides professional teeth whitening. A single session runs roughly 40 to 60 minutes and uses hydrogen peroxide products. The treatment only applies to natural teeth and targets stains from coffee, tea and wine. According to the studio, most clients end up 5 to 8 shades lighter after one visit. Touch-up visits can be booked for up to three months after the first treatment. Whitening is not advised for pregnant clients or for anyone with dental problems that haven't been treated.

Permanent hair removal is the core of the practice, with each hair follicle treated individually using thermolysis, galvanic, or a blend of the two. The studio states its mission is safe, effective hair removal in a welcoming, inclusive space that supports body positivity.
