Simply Cuts was founded in 1989, in the years after the Loma Prieta earthquake, with the aim of offering affordable hair services to the Marina and Presidio neighborhoods. Owner Cliff drove the founding of the salon and has run it for more than 30 years.

The salon is open Sunday from 10AM to 6PM and Monday through Saturday from 9AM to 7PM. Walk-ins are welcome, and clients who prefer a set time can call for an appointment at 1-415-922-0590 or email simplycutshong@yahoo.com.

Services are grouped into hair styling and hair color. Styling covers cuts, shampoo-and-cut packages, shampoo with blow-out and style (with a flat or curling iron option), and bang, line-up and beard trims. Color covers single-process color, full highlights and perms. A $30 blow-out is added after a color service unless a haircut follows it. The salon also sells professional-grade hair products, including brands other than its own.
