About

Silk Electrolysis removes hair from most areas of the body, except inside the nose and ears. The treatment is designed for every hair type and skin tone, and tattooed skin can be treated without changing the ink in the design. The clinic describes itself as offering the only permanent hair removal service approved by the FDA for all hair types and skin tones.

During a session, the electrologist inserts a fine probe into each follicle opening and applies a current to damage the hair's nutrient supply. Electrolysis usually takes several sessions. Timing depends on how often clients come in, how much hair there is and how distorted the follicles are; with consistent appointments, some areas finish in about six months and others can take up to two years. Electrolysis on a mole requires a doctor's note confirming the mole is safe to treat.

A free consultation is required before treatment begins so the clinic can confirm the treatment is safe for the client. Each session is tailored to the client's needs. Pricing is by time increment, with longer sessions working out to a lower cost per minute: 15 minutes is $40, 30 minutes is $60, 45 minutes is $80, 60 minutes is $100, 90 minutes is $150 and two hours is $200. Bookings are made online through Fresha, are confirmed instantly and are paid for in the app. The clinic is open Monday and Tuesday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday and Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and closed Sunday.

After treatment, the clinic recommends applying Coolmist Astringent two to three times within the first 24 hours to help protect the skin from bacteria, followed by Tissue Repair Cream for healing. Soap and water should be kept off the treated area for 24 hours. The clinic says its products are top of the line and that the cream can shorten healing from 5 to 7 days to 2 to 3 days.

Offers thorough consultations and personalized care, with each session adjusted to the client.

The clinic describes its setting as calm and private.
