Sika House Esthetics

Sika House Esthetics is a skincare studio in Suite 110 at Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg. The studio describes its services as helping clients feel confident and get more out of their lives. Its menu centers on facials, with a short list of add-ons and two consultation formats.

Most of the menu is built around a 90-minute facial. The Correct and Protect Customized Facial begins with a double cleanse and exfoliation under steam, followed by extractions when needed, high-frequency treatment, a detoxifying facial massage, a treatment mask, a hydrating moisturizer and sun protection. It is aimed at acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and dullness, and includes gentle massage and lymphatic drainage. The Men's Corrective Facial follows a similar sequence, opening with a skin assessment and finishing with a nourishing mask and calming massage. The Relaxing Back Facial applies the same steam-based cleansing and high-frequency work to the back, with a warm towel finish.

The Dermaplaning Facial uses a medical-grade blade to remove dead skin cells and fine peach fuzz, and is paired with a double cleanse, steam exfoliation, detoxifying massage and a soothing mask. Clients need to stop facial waxing, retinol, BHAs, AHAs, benzoyl peroxide and other exfoliants or topical acne medication seven days before the appointment. The studio does not perform it on clients with sensitive skin, active acne, cold sore outbreaks, eczema, psoriasis or other skin inflammation, and it typically does not recommend it for first-time clients. The Oxygen Facial uses a blend of antioxidants, plant-derived stem cells, peptides and enzymatic botanicals.

Consultations are 45 minutes. An in-person consultation reviews skin history, concerns, goals, lifestyle and the current routine, then builds a plan that fits the client's budget. The same consultation is available online through FaceTime or Zoom. Add-ons of 5 to 15 minutes include ice globes, an aromatherapy facial with therapeutic-grade essential oils such as lavender, eucalyptus and lemongrass, and LED light therapy, a non-invasive treatment that uses light wavelengths aimed at wrinkles and acne with no recovery time.
