Sierra's Nail Studio (Fresno)

The studio has two locations. The Clovis studio is open Tuesday to Friday, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Saturday, 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, closed Sunday and Monday. The Fresno studio is open Tuesday to Friday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday, 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, closed Sunday and Monday. Bookings open 30 days ahead, and requests are approved the week of the appointment.

The two main services are structured gel and Gel-X. Structured gel is builder gel laid over the natural nail, with no tips or extensions. It is meant for growing out natural nails rather than adding instant length, and it is kept up with a fill every two to four weeks, where the old color or top coat is removed, the grown-out area is filled, and the set is reapplied. The studio recommends two to three weeks between appointments and says structured gel lasts three to six weeks with little to no lifting. Gel-X gives instant length in any shape. Each set is soaked off and rebuilt with new tips at every appointment, so there are no fills, and each set is customized to length and shape. The studio says Gel-X wears three to four weeks.

Other services include gel polish changes, removals, nail repair, and nail art. Nail art runs from hand painted French and simple designs through medium and extreme work, with chrome or cateye finishes. Add-ons include extra cuticle work and shape changes. Clients can message photos of the nails they want to get help choosing a service, and the nail art portfolio shows which services to book for each set.

New clients come in with bare nails or book a removal along with a structured gel manicure. The studio does not work over another person's work, so nails from elsewhere need to be removed or soaked off before the visit. Soak off is for returning Gel-X clients only. Clients whose nails came from another technician should choose the Soak Off - Not My Work option. A liability waiver is required before the first appointment, and minors need a parent or guardian signature. A card must be kept on file to book. Cancellations made less than two days ahead are charged 50% of the booked services. Same-day cancellations, no-shows, and arrivals 10 or more minutes late are charged 100%, after a 10-minute grace period. Regular clients with five or more consecutive appointments get one courtesy cancellation without a fee. Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled through the confirmation text or email, or in the Square Go app on iPhone. Prices shown at booking are estimates, and the final price is set after services are done. Accepted payments are cash, card (with a $5 processing fee), and Venmo.

The studio separates its two main services by purpose: structured gel suits natural nails that are growing out, while Gel-X suits clients who want instant length. Each service has its own maintenance schedule and booking rules.
