The name Shén is a Chinese word for spirit or mind. The studio's belief is that all ailments arise from disharmony, so it works with the shén in every condition it treats.
Dr. Kirsten Kruse founded the studio and opened it as her own acupuncture clinic after completing her training. Clients book a free 15-minute video or phone call to meet a practitioner and ask questions about acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine before their first visit.
Initial appointments begin with a comprehensive intake meant to identify root energetic patterns. Acupuncture needles are about the width of a few human hairs, and the studio says they usually cause little to no pain. Website information is educational only, and individual medical advice is given at the appointment.
The studio is open Mondays from 2 to 7:30 pm, Tuesdays from noon to 6:30 pm, Wednesdays from 2 to 7:30 pm, and Thursdays from noon to 7:30 pm. Friday hours are offered only occasionally.
The studio treats the shén in each person, addressing disharmony through acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, with point combinations tailored to each patient.
