Sheldeez has specialized in African-American hair care since 1996 and works with clients across Northern Virginia from its suite at Cedar Lake Plaza in Sterling. The salon describes itself as a place where all of a client's hair needs can be met. Booking can be done online at any time, with real-time availability shown. Same-day openings are sometimes possible, and clients can text the salon to ask about cancellations. Before an appointment, clients are advised on what hair to bring, and inspiration photos can be texted in advance. The salon sends SMS reminders to clients who opt in, and it is open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, seven days a week.

Sheldonna, the owner and master stylist, leads a team of stylists, natural hair stylists and a lash technician. Shampoo assistants handle shampooing, conditioning, blow-dry, detox, steaming and protein treatments. The salon states that its team is made up of certified professionals who continue training. Each client receives a customized consultation and a tailored service, according to the salon.

Beyond appointments, the salon sells professional hair care products, including shampoos, conditioners, leave-ins, oils, serums and gels, as well as satin bonnets, wraps, brushes, combs, wig caps and durags. Products can be reserved online and picked up at the salon. Brazilian, Cambodian and Burmese hair extensions and wigs are also sold, and eGift cards are available. The salon suggests wrapping hair at night, using a light oil on the scalp as needed, and refreshing the style every four to eight weeks.
