Shekhinah Spa is open on weekdays and on available weekends, and it sits within walking distance of Pewaukee beach. The massage menu runs from a 30-minute deep tissue session to two-hour treatments. Swedish massage uses oil or lotion with pressure increased gradually as the muscles relax. Deep tissue combines neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy and relaxation techniques. Neuromuscular therapy uses medium to deep pressure on areas of pain and chronic tightness and includes a posture analysis and a complimentary pelvic stabilization. Other options include Signature massage with hot towels and essential oils, hot stone and hot/cold stone sessions, lymphatic massage, dry brushing, reflexology, CBD massage, TMJ massage, and Raindrop Therapy, a very light pressure session using nine therapeutic grade essential oils applied as drops on the back and feet.
Pregnancy massage uses a body pillow so the client can lie on her stomach, and clients should share their stage of pregnancy when booking. Couples can book a massage or facial together in a couples suite, which must be arranged by calling or texting the spa. Prayer and Massage pairs a massage with prayer, with a disclaimer on the booking that the client is responsible for any words spoken or prayed.
Session add-ons include salt stone treatments, cupping, warmed bamboo sticks, extra time on the feet, hands or head, a rainfall shower, and a rest period in the room for a nap. Bundles bring several massages together, sometimes mixing styles, at a single fixed price. Bundles and gift certificates may be divided among relatives or presented as presents.
Overnight stays are offered at a rental house by the beach in Pewaukee called Spa house. It hosts two guests, or the whole house for up to four, and can be booked on Airbnb, VRBO or directly through the booking site. Guests have access to a hot tub, kitchen, living room and bedrooms with electric fireplaces, a bathroom with a rainfall shower and towel warmer, and a backyard with outdoor dining in summer. Hot tub use for groups is arranged by calling to schedule.
Policies: all services are non-refundable, and cancellations need 24 hours notice or the full appointment amount is charged. No-shows are charged for the missed visit, and late arrivals may have sessions shortened while still being charged in full. Massage tables have a 325 lb weight limit. Clients are draped throughout, and the practitioner leaves the room while the client undresses. Clients should tell the practitioner about health problems or medications, and a written doctor's recommendation is advised for clients under a doctor's care.
The spa says its mission is to help clients be as healthy as they can be, and it tailors sessions to the individual client.
