Shear Genius opened in the Perry Hall area in the spring of 1989 and is located in the Honeygo Crossing Shopping Center. It is closed on Mondays, open Tuesday through Thursday 10 AM to 9 PM, Friday 10 AM to 8 PM, Saturday 8:30 AM to 4 PM and Sunday 11 AM to 5 PM.

About

Services are grouped into color, cuts and styling, makeup, and texture. Color ranges from color touch-ups and partial highlights to full highlights, double process color, and ombré or balayage. Corrective color requires a consultation before booking. Texture services include perms, custom perms, a relaxer, express keratin and a keratin smoothing treatment.

Haircuts are not included in color or texture services, so a cut is booked separately. Menu prices are starting points that can change with length, density, technique and the level of stylist.

The salon carries Paul Mitchell, Aquage, Biomega and Matrix retail products in an expanded retail area. A backbar menu of treatments for specific hair concerns is available, and stylists can advise on which option fits. OLAPLEX re-bonding services are also offered.

For weddings and formal events, the salon offers bridal hair and makeup on site or off site. A complimentary bridal consultation is available by contacting the wedding coordinator, Kara.

Treatments for particular hair concerns are drawn from a backbar menu, and stylists advise on the right choice.
