Color work starts with a 45-minute consultation that includes a strand test, which checks whether the hair is healthy enough for color. Stylist approval is needed for most color services, with black and brown dyes the exception. Elumen is offered in standard and long-hair versions, along with partial and full highlights and a prelighten color service. Prices for highlights and prelightening can vary depending on the hair.

Extension appointments take a long time, from about three and a half hours for sleek ponytails and quick weaves to four hours for sew-ins. Tape-in installs use 60 to 80 pieces, and an extra bundle costs $50; the salon asks to be contacted before booking tape-ins. Pretty Pin Ups need three bundles of 18 to 22 inch body wave hair. Hair is not included for tape-ins or ponytails, and quick weaves do better with Remi Velvet or Empire Sensationnel hair, not the Outre purple pack.

Natural hair clients can book a silk press or wash and curl only if they have been seen within the last three months; returning clients pay $95. Anyone not seen in that window books the new client silk press or curl service instead, which includes a red light infused steam treatment. A detox shampoo that removes product buildup is recommended before a silk press.

Clients should detangle their hair and take it down from previous styles, including braids, before arriving. Severely tangled hair adds a $25 fee. Children must be twelve or older to be serviced, and extra guests and children are not allowed unless they are being serviced. Clients are asked not to wear hoodies for a trim or cut. A 10-minute grace period applies: a $20 late fee is added at the 10th minute, and the appointment is cancelled at the 14th. Clients must be inside the building to count as on time. A missed appointment without a call carries a $50 fee applied to the next visit. Payment is by card, Apple Pay or cash, with cash preferred; card payments carry a $2 service fee. Street parking is available.

Color work begins with a consultation and a strand test, and most lightening needs stylist approval before booking.
