ShayCosmo is run by Shay (Shannon) and offers hair and waxing services from Sola Studio, located off Blossom Hill and Santa Teresa in San Jose. The business puts its focus on the client experience during each appointment.

The room is cozy, and clients can have coffee, tea, water or a snack during their visit. Hair work covers color, highlights and partial highlights, root touch-ups, color correction, cuts, styling, extensions, scalp treatments and up-dos. A complimentary 30-minute consultation is offered to talk through the look a client wants before booking. Blowdry and styling with extensions starts at $150, and the final price depends on hair amount, texture, detailing and time.

Waxing is offered for the face, body, legs, arms, underarms, bikini and Brazilian areas, and beard wax is available for men. Brow waxing and eyelash lift and tint are also on the menu. The Super Smooth Queen bikini full and butt service is $900 and takes about 45 minutes, and the client chooses how much is taken off the front, the booty strip and the full booty cheeks.

Many services require a deposit between $10 and $325, and new clients often pay a higher deposit. A 50% fee applies to no-shows and to cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the visit. Gift cards come in $50, $75, $100 and $200 amounts or a custom amount, and gift card sales are final. Hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM, with the studio closed Monday, Saturday and Sunday.
