Sharp Shine Nails was founded by Destiny Sharp, who owns and operates the salon. Before opening, she saved money over time and built the business step by step, practicing and learning nail techniques first. According to the salon, it has grown faster than its owner expected.

According to the salon, its mission is to be an inclusive place where clients from every background feel recognized, respected and looked after.

Clients book appointments online, except clients aged 65 and older. A nonrefundable deposit is required to book, and it can be transferred once before another deposit is needed. Appointments are one on one, so clients are asked to come alone, and children under 13 are not permitted. Nail art has to be chosen when booking because it cannot be added during the visit.

Arriving more than 10 minutes late incurs a late fee, and appointments are cancelled automatically after 15 minutes. Clients who are running late should let the salon know. Cancellations made less than 12 hours ahead forfeit the deposit, except during snow or tornado warnings, and rain or storms are not accepted as a reason to cancel. Refunds are not permitted, but issues reported within 72 hours after a service are fixed free of charge, except for regular polish services. Accepted payment methods are cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
