Sharkey's Cuts for Kids is a salon built around children and families. According to the salon, it has been operating for 24 or more years, and it describes its haircuts as the best kids' haircuts in Rockwall. Those are its own claims rather than independent ratings.

The salon is set up to make a haircut feel like an outing. Children can choose between a police cruiser, a Barbie Jeep, a Lightning McQueen race car or a Mini Cooper chair, and they can watch cartoons or Netflix during the cut. A Tween Lounge with Xbox stations gives older children somewhere to relax.

Every haircut includes a wash, cut and blow-dry, along with a minicure, a balloon and a lollipop. Boys' haircuts are $32 and girls' haircuts are $38, and the girls' price adds a glamour ring. A Child's First Haircut Experience is $38 for boys and $40 for girls and includes a certificate, a lock of hair to keep and a photo.

Styling options cover more than cuts. Curls, Curls, Curls! pairs a minicure and a choice of glamour ring with curls styled in the Tween Lounge. Braids range from simple and sleek to creative styles like French braids and fishtails, and up-dos include ballet buns, wedding styles and ponytails for long hair.

For parents, there is a private lounge for a haircut or a wash and style. Day of Beauty brings hair, nails and makeup into a private Tween Lounge for up to one hour. The salon also offers a custom social narrative to help children with anxiety or sensory sensitivities prepare for a haircut.

Cancellations and rescheduling need at least 24 hours' notice, and late cancellations or no-shows may carry fees. Individual locations may set their own deposit, late arrival and rescheduling rules. Cash, credit and debit cards are accepted, along with other methods shown at checkout. Salon locations are independently owned and operated franchises.
