For children who feel anxious or are sensitive to sensory input, the salon offers a social narrative before the visit, a short, prepared walkthrough of what the appointment will involve, to help them settle in before the haircut begins.
Several other visits are available. The Child's First Haircut Experience costs $40 and comes with a certificate, a lock of hair to keep and a photo from the visit. Curls, Curls, Curls! adds a minicure and a choice of glamour ring while a child's curls are styled, with waiting done in the Tween Lounge. Parents can book their own haircut, or a wash and style, in a private lounge.
The salon says it has been operating for more than 24 years and has given more than 10 million haircuts. It describes its service as a five-star experience and reports that 97% of clients recommend it, according to the salon.
