Shaping Eyes

Shaping Eyes was created in January 2022 by owner Gabby as a salon focused only on eyebrows and eyelashes. Services fall into three groups: brows, lash extensions, and keratin lash lifts.

For brows, Brow Shape covers waxing, trimming, tweezing and an optional light makeup application, and can also be used to rehabilitate brows by mapping a target shape and letting the surrounding hairs fill it in. Brow Shape & Tint adds a tint, while Henna darkens the appearance of brow hairs. Tint and henna last a few days on the skin and about two to three weeks on the hair. Brow Lamination softens and relaxes brow hairs so they sit in place, and includes trimming, tweezing and an optional tint.

For lashes, the salon offers classic extensions, with one extension on every natural lash for a light, natural look; hybrid, which blends classic and volume techniques for a textured, fuller but wispy line; volume, with fans of three to four extensions per natural lash; and mega volume, with fans of five to six lightweight extensions for a dark, dense set. Keratin Lash Lifts are a chemical treatment that curls natural lashes in about one to one and a half hours. An optional lash tint can be added, and the lift typically lasts eight to ten weeks, depending on the lash cycle.

The space is calm, with relaxing music and a subtle essential oil scent. Clients are offered a blanket during their service and can listen to podcasts or music during the appointment. Children and other guests are not allowed at brow or lash appointments. Lash refills are needed every two to three weeks and require at least 40% of extensions to remain; otherwise a full set is recommended. A complimentary follow-up of up to 60 minutes is offered one to two days after the original appointment, and a lash removal is provided free of charge if a client has a reaction, with a consent form signed at the first visit.

Cancelling or rescheduling more than 48 hours ahead has no charge. Cancelling the day before costs 50% of the service, while same-day changes and no-shows are charged the full service, including cancellations after the appointment time has started. Clients arriving more than 10 minutes late may not be serviced that day and are charged the full amount. Refunds are not offered on any service. Waxing is not allowed for clients taking Accutane, and topical acne treatments and retinoid medications must be stopped three weeks before a wax. Exfoliating should stop three days before waxing, sun or tanning booths two days before, and waxing should wait one to two weeks after microdermabrasion or chemical peels.

Lash health comes first, and the natural length and strength of each client's lashes guide the diameter and length of the extensions used.
