Shaka Body Art

Shaka Body Art operates from two locations: Anna Maria, at 9906 Gulf Drive, and Siesta Key, at 5212 Ocean Boulevard. The Anna Maria studio is open seven days a week from 10am to 6pm, and the Siesta Key location runs seven days a week from 11am to 6pm. The Siesta Key spot is outdoors, so hours can shift with the weather.

No appointment is needed. Guests can walk in, and a waitlist texts them when it is their turn. Business phone numbers are (941) 720-6153 for Anna Maria and (941) 949-6107 for Siesta Key.

The menu centers on hair and body decoration. Braids, fairy hair (strands of tinsel tied into the hair) and hair wraps, where a small section of hair is bound with embroidery floss, are offered on short or long hair for children, women, men and beards. Henna tattoos are made with jagua ink, with red henna paste available on request, and permanent jewelry is fitted to the wearer and welded closed in place of a clasp. Permanent jewelry can be made as rings, bracelets, anklets or necklaces.

Group visits are offered for five or more people at a home, condo or poolside, covering henna, tinsel hair, wraps, braids or permanent jewelry. These visits are charged at shop prices with no added service fees.

Both locations are outdoors, with the Siesta Key spot especially dependent on the weather.
