Owner and master stylist Kelsey leads SHADE, which the salon describes as more than a typical salon and as an experience built around luxury self-care and makeover services. The space is set up for clients to unwind, whether they want quiet time or easy conversation with their stylist.

The menu is grouped into men's services, women's services, color, custom extensions, skin, and add-ons. Men's appointments cover barber cuts, tapered cuts, hot towel treatments, and straight razor neck shaves, with a complimentary bourbon offered alongside the neck shave. Women's appointments include dry textured scissor work, razor shags and blunt bobs, plus blowouts and styling. Color work ranges from foilyage blonding and quick 20-minute gray coverage to advanced corrective color and bonding and keratin treatments.

Bookings can be made through the website or by email to the studio. Color and extension consultations happen over email: clients send a recent photo of their hair, a photo of a look they like, and the times they are free. A deposit is collected when booking, $75 for first-time color and extension clients and $15 for all other clients. Deposits are not refundable. A card is kept on file to secure appointments. Missed appointments or late cancellations incur a 30% charge, with the window being 24 hours before a haircut and 72 hours before a color or extension service.

Each visit starts with a personal consultation so recommended services suit the way a client lives day to day.
