Sewn and Scissored was founded in 2022 by Bianca Fae Bellomo, who leads the studio and works as its extension specialist. The studio describes itself as a luxury hair studio, and its focus is hand-tied extensions, with color, cutting and smoothing treatments also available.
Services are by appointment only, and online booking is not offered. Clients book by texting or calling the studio's dedicated line, which is answered Monday to Friday, 10AM to 6PM. The inquiry form is for new clients only; existing clients reach the studio by call or text.
Care is guided by the health and integrity of the hair. The studio aims to work with a client's natural hair rather than against it, using a less-is-more approach, and it offers a quiet, inclusive setting with a customized experience for each client.
The studio is inside In the Grove Hair Studio in the Astor building, near the rainbow crosswalk. Three dedicated In the Grove parking spots are in the building, and free public parking is available in the Arts Garage next block over before 4PM. During appointments, clients can have coffee, watch TV, listen to music, work at a portable desk or browse a library.
A January/February 2024 feature in Delray Magazine included the studio in a roundup of local picks.
