Sew Brooklyn

The salon was opened by its owner after she found that Brooklyn salons often lacked affordable, high-quality service with strong customer care. The salon describes itself as redefining the Brooklyn salon and as one of the pioneers in doing so, and says it selects and trains the best stylists.

Appointments require a deposit, and a booking is confirmed once the deposit is paid. While clients wait, the salon offers a beverage and music in a space it describes as chic, modern and fun.

The core service is the sew-in. A full head sew-in takes about 2 hours and costs $350; no hair is left out, and bangs are recommended with it. The Sew, You Need Everything? package starts at $500 and takes about 4 hours 10 minutes, and includes a basic sew-in with two bundles, a wash and blow, and a hair steam treatment. Up to three bundles are installed at no extra cost, with a $25 charge for each bundle beyond three. Hair is not included with an install but can be bought at the salon, and a wash is an add-on. Take Out, the removal of extensions, takes 20 minutes and costs $55 for installs done at the salon; first-time removal of extensions installed elsewhere takes longer and may carry extra charges. Wig installs take about an hour and cost $200, covering a wash, braid down and styling for all wig types. Trims are $50, and the Senior Stylist trim is recommended every three months.

According to the salon, stylists receive training in current techniques, and the salon hosts free classes on site. Team members may also develop personal brands operating under the Sew Brooklyn name. Partnerships are listed with Eboni Hair Creations, Bar Therapy, The Hair Freedom Club, Glam Goode Studio and Pick A Color Studio.

The salon says it aims to respect clients' time and deliver service promptly.
