About

Sergay Dermatology is owned and run by Dr. Amanda Sergay, a board-certified dermatologist. The practice covers medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology for both adults and children, and it describes itself as a more individual approach to skin care in South Tampa. The office is just off South Howard Avenue, and it has complimentary parking on site.

Every visit is with Dr. Sergay herself, not a physician assistant or nurse practitioner. New patient and existing patient appointments cost $195 and include a full skin exam and most minor procedures, such as biopsies, skin tag removal, and cyst or keloid injections. Appointments are scheduled for as long as the patient needs, so visits are not rushed. Patients can reach the dermatologist with questions after their appointment.

The practice does not bill insurance, including Medicare, and charges no copays or deductibles. Prices are shared before the visit. Patients with commercial plans pay the visit fee and may seek reimbursement from their out-of-network plan, and the practice provides the information needed to submit claims. Insurance can still be used for prescriptions and lab tests ordered by the dermatologist, and HSA and FSA accounts are accepted. A credit card is required to book and is charged 24 business hours before the visit. Balances are due on the day of the visit, and cancellations within 48 hours carry a $195 fee.

Skin specimens removed during visits are sent to Dermpath Diagnostics. Patients who do not use insurance pay the lab's $71 fee per specimen.

The practice serves patients from South Tampa neighborhoods such as Hyde Park, Palma Ceia, Davis Islands and Ballast Point, as well as Central Tampa areas including Downtown Tampa and Ybor City, and North Tampa areas such as Carrollwood, Westchase and Temple Terrace.

Every appointment is with the board-certified dermatologist who owns the practice, and the stated philosophy centers on transparency, accessibility and open pricing. Most minor procedures and treatments can be completed during the visit, and the owner is available after regular hours for urgent concerns.
