Serenity Electrolysis

Serenity Electrolysis is a Houston studio focused on permanent hair removal through electrolysis. The studio describes itself as the city's trusted electrolysis studio for that purpose. It was opened by its founder, Sonia P., who works there as the electrologist, and it works by appointment only.

The studio is gender-affirming and inclusive and welcomes clients of every gender identity. It serves men, teens, transgender clients and people with hormonal changes, and takes clients seeking hair removal related to PMOS, formerly known as PCOS. Clients can message the studio to ask whether a particular area can be treated before booking. Facial areas include the eyebrows, upper lip, chin, cheeks, sideburns, ears and neck, and body areas include the underarms, chest, abdomen, arms, hands, legs, feet and toes. According to the studio, electrolysis is safe and effective across skin tones and hair colors, and safe for teens with parental consent.

Electrolysis usually takes several treatments on the same hair before it is permanently destroyed. New clients often come in weekly or every two weeks, and as treatment progresses the visits become less frequent and shorter. Standard rates are $25 for 5 minutes, $55 for 15 minutes, $70 for 30 minutes, $105 for 45 minutes and $120 for an hour. Cash discount rates are $20, $45, $60, $85 and $100 for the same lengths. Major credit cards, Zelle, Venmo and Cash App are accepted.

Before a session, clients may shave but should avoid shaving for two to three days beforehand, and should avoid tweezing, waxing or threading for three to four weeks. Arrive five minutes early. Late arrivals are charged the full session as booked, and the appointment cannot be extended. Cancellations or reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice to avoid a fee; the first missed appointment is charged half the service fee and later ones the full fee. Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and parental consent is required. Appointments outside regular hours can be requested by contacting the studio, subject to availability.
