The studio's work centers on the features, tones and textures of women of color. Guests are buzzed in at the building entrance, and entry instructions arrive in the booking confirmation email. In-studio appointments are booked through a scheduling system, and its confirmation emails may come from Gloss Genius and sometimes land in spam. Gift card holders book by emailing the studio directly. Buy Now, Pay Later is available in person for bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment. Wedding work is limited to one wedding per day, and most dates are reserved 12 to 18 months ahead, especially in peak season. A $500 non-refundable retainer and a signed contract hold a date, and the balance is due 30 days before the wedding; a complimentary consultation call is offered to reserve one. The Signature Experience starts at $1,600 and includes a 2-hour in-studio preview, three personalized facials, a wedding-day mini facial, makeup at the bride's location, complimentary false lashes, a luminous body glow treatment, a touch-up kit and timeline management. Previews and makeup trials are reserved for booked wedding clients. The team works with planners, photographers and coordinators to build a beauty timeline. Larger parties are served by additional artists, each with a minimum of three services, and if an emergency keeps an artist from attending, clients are notified right away and experienced backup artists can step in. Overnight hotel accommodation is required for locations 1.5 hours or more away and for destination weddings.
Skin and scalp services welcome one guest at a time. Personalized facials are built around skin history, the current season and long-term needs. Head spa scalp facials focus on scalp care, circulation and relaxation, and a facial and a scalp treatment can be combined in one visit. Express dermaplaning takes 30 minutes, and the Monthly Reset is a 60-minute facial suggested every four to six weeks. The studio does not offer hair services but works with outside stylists and can coordinate with them. Makeup lessons are personalized for everyday use, rituals or professional growth. Booking site hours are Wednesday and Friday 1 to 5:30 PM, Thursday 1 to 5 PM and Sunday 1 to 4 PM, with Monday, Tuesday and Saturday closed. Street parking is readily available nearby, though some metered spots need the Flowbird app, which is not required after 6 PM or on Sundays.
