Second Place Co

Second Place Co combines a cut and color salon, called Second Place Salon, with a shop selling handmade goods, all at 520 2nd Street in Encinitas. It is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Clients can reach the business by phone at (619) 800-8729 or by email at info@secondplaceco.com.

At the salon, stylists work with each client to shape the look together. Services center on natural sun-kissed color, low-maintenance cuts and beachy waves. The salon is gratuity-free, so there is no tip to add.

The shop makes its products in-house, handling design, cutting, sewing, dyeing and screen printing. The business says its products are made ethically and sustainably. Tees and pennants are made to order: tees typically ship within 4-5 business days and pennants within 5-10 business days after the order and confirmation email are completed, with longer times possible at peak periods. Prices include the Encinitas Tee (Moondust) at $50.00, the Crumple Dye Tee at $110.00, which is crumpled and dyed by hand, and the Wings Tee at $50.00 in an organic cotton and hemp blend. Pennants range from the Leucadia Pennant at $58.00 to the Make Your Own Pennant at $99.00, where the customer chooses colors and text, and the Checkered Waves Flag at $113.00.
