About

SD PRP Clinic describes itself as focused exclusively on PRP and related regenerative therapies. The clinic says its approach centers on natural healing that uses the body's own growth factors, and it describes its treatments as natural options. Dr. Shawn Khorshidi founded the practice and performs the procedures himself.

For musculoskeletal pain, the clinic offers cortisone and hyaluronic acid (Hyalgan) joint and tendon injections, and ultrasound-guided PRP with or without alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M). Every musculoskeletal procedure is done under real-time ultrasound guidance, and blood draws range from 30 to 120 mL depending on the area, with about 60 mL standard for most protocols. A2M is added to double spin PRP for many knee, shoulder, hip and spine treatments. Conditions treated include knee osteoarthritis, meniscus tears, ligament injuries and tendinopathy; rotator cuff tears, labrum tears, frozen shoulder and bursitis in the shoulder; labral tears and trochanteric bursitis in the hip; and facet joint arthritis, SI joint pain and spinal ligament sprains. Elbow, wrist and ankle pain, including tendinopathy and ligament injuries, is also treated. The clinic says complex or long-standing tendon and arthritic conditions may need a series of two to three injections spaced several weeks apart, and that post-procedure soreness for a few days is normal, with improvements typically developing over four to 12 weeks. PRP is not advised for severe osteoarthritis that requires joint replacement, though it can be tried if surgery is not possible.

Hair restoration combines double spin PRP with scalp microneedling for thinning hair and pattern hair loss. It is typically given as three treatments about six weeks apart, followed by maintenance every six to 12 months. The clinic says visible improvement usually takes three to four months, with fuller results around six months, and that some people notice changes within a few weeks. Oral or topical medications such as finasteride or minoxidil may be prescribed by the providers during a visit. Facial treatments include PRP microneedling for the face, with the neck available as an add-on, and PRP for periorbital (under-eye and eyelid) rejuvenation, aimed at fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. Nitrous oxide is available for comfort during PRP hair, facial microneedling and musculoskeletal treatments if discussed with the doctor beforehand.

A visit starts with a free 30-minute phone consultation for new patients with Dr. Khorshidi, which is required before any procedure. Following that, the clinic builds a personalized treatment plan and explains the science behind PRP. Current prices are shown on the booking page, including PRP microneedling of the face or neck at $645, PRP for hair loss, eyelids or facial lines at $795 per session, the three-session hair loss package with scalp microneedling at $2,199 prepaid, a cortisone or hyaluronic acid joint or tendon injection at $390, and ultrasound-guided PRP for joints, tendons or spine at $895 without A2M or $1,175 with A2M. Musculoskeletal double spin injections are listed at $985 to $1,350, and nitrous oxide is an add-on at $32. Each musculoskeletal price covers one injection of one area. The clinic notes that additional costs apply for 120 mL kits and for adding hyaluronic acid to PRP.

Refunds: a full refund is available only when the clinic receives notice at least 48 hours before a procedure. A $200 fee applies to no-shows and late cancellations. For the three-session hair package, each completed session is billed at the single-session rate, and any unused balance is returned if all three sessions are not completed. Platelet-rich plasma and A2M are classed as elective, so commercial health insurance and Medicare do not cover them. Accepted payments include credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, most HSA cards, and Affirm plans spread over six to 18 months. The clinic does not offer Wharton's jelly treatments, umbilical stem cell injections, IV exosome or IV stem cell treatments, intradiscal injections, or epidural steroid injections. For selected patients whose earlier therapies did not work, exosomes and injectable peptides may be added; the clinic describes these as experimental rather than first-line options.

The site also lists PRP for conditions including tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, TMJ disorders, masseter pain, anal fissures, chronic non-healing wounds and vaginal dryness. Patients whose condition is not listed can text the clinic to ask whether PRP is offered for it. Booking is online for phone consultations, and the clinic also takes bookings by phone, text or email. Text is preferred at (619) 784-1314, with a second line at (619) 784-1316 and email at mysdprp@gmail.com.

The clinic focuses on natural healing using the body's own growth factors, with treatments built around a personalized plan that starts with a free consultation. Musculoskeletal procedures are guided by real-time ultrasound, and the clinic will refer patients elsewhere if PRP is not the right option.
