Scarlet & Co

Scarlet & Co is a hair salon on North Clark Street in Chicago. The salon aims to give each client a personalized experience, with stylists given room to work creatively while meeting what each client needs. The space was designed to feel modern.

Owner Karissa Schaudt moved to Chicago at 19 to build her hair skills, working across many hair types and trends. She spent about ten years behind the chair before opening the salon.

Color is a central focus. Services include balayage and sun-kissed highlights for blondes, radiant redheads, and lived-in brunettes, K-tip extensions for added length, volume, or fullness, and bridal styling for local and destination weddings. The salon says it offers a broad range of techniques and styles.

New clients who haven't booked before are asked to text to book. Booking hours vary by artist. A waitlist is available: interested clients share their name, the service they want, and a preferred time. Appointments canceled or changed less than 48 hours ahead are charged half the booked service, and no-shows are charged the full amount.

Stylists are given freedom and flexibility in their work while meeting client needs, with the aim of a personalized experience.
