Scalp Micro USA was founded in 2015 by Matt Iulo, who the company says helped bring SMP to the United States when he opened his first clinic in New York City. SMP is a non-surgical treatment that uses micro-needles to deposit a specially formulated pigment into the upper layer of the scalp. The result looks like tiny follicles or short stubble rather than new growth. Each session is non-invasive and needs no downtime; most clients return to work right away or within a couple of days, though slight scalp redness for two to three days after a session is common. Clients may wear hats or headwear afterward. Most people need two to four sessions, usually spaced 10 to 20 days apart, and results typically last four to six years before a touch-up is needed. Care and follow-up sessions affect how long the work holds.
Every visit starts with a free consultation, held in person, by phone or by FaceTime. For phone consultations, clients send photos of their hair loss and a specialist follows up. Emailed questions and photos receive a quote within 24 to 48 hours, according to the company. After the consultation, clients receive a free quote and treatment plan built around their hair loss goals. Specific prices are not listed publicly; they are given during consultation.
Hairlines are designed for each client rather than chosen from a single style, and the company says it aims for realistic, consistent results. Correction is a particular focus: clients who received poor or incomplete SMP elsewhere can start with a free assessment, after which the work may involve blending, added density, a redesign or laser removal. Most corrections take one to three sessions, while severe cases or full redesigns can take longer. Clients should wait at least four to six weeks after their last SMP session before starting correction or laser removal. Laser removal of failed SMP is available on site at the South Florida clinic; the other clinics work with local partners for it.
Payment plans and financing are available through Cherry Technologies, Inc., with some applicants qualifying for 0% APR subject to eligibility. Applicants must be 18 or older and need a state ID and a mobile phone number.
The business works from a free assessment and a plan tailored to each client's hair loss goals, aiming for realistic, consistent SMP results. Correction work begins by assessing the existing SMP before choosing a method.
The Los Angeles clinic is described as modern and comfortable in design.
