Savvy Skincare was founded in 2012 by Kim, an owner esthetician who began working at luxury spas in the Bay Area in 2004 and trained on advanced equipment there. The studio is located inside The Studio Salon on Laurel Street in San Carlos.

Facials are tailored to each client and typically combine cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, massage and hydration. The menu runs from a 45-minute custom facial with minimal extractions, to a 60-minute clinical resurfacing facial with LED and micro-current, to a 90-minute session that adds a full anti-aging LED treatment and a seasonal hand and décolletage treatment. The Skin Expert Facial, an hour or longer, layers two or more advanced modalities for acneic, hypersensitive, environmentally damaged or prematurely aging skin. Angelic Lift pairs a 75-minute Skin Expert Facial with 20 minutes of Angelic Reiki and crystal energies. LED can also be booked as a stand-alone series.

Waxing covers the face, arms, legs, underarms, bikini areas and men's chest or back. The studio uses waxes suitable for all skin types, then finishes with an organic after-product and a high-frequency treatment. Waxing has a $30 minimum per service, and bundling services brings savings. Red Carpet Ready, a 45-minute micro-current and ultrasound facial suited to pre-event appointments, is $110 per session when bought as a series of six, with bi-weekly visits recommended.
