About

Sarah Skin Artist is a one-person skincare studio in Brea, California. The owner, an esthetician, has run the Skin Artist studio for the past five years, according to the studio's site, and brings more than a decade of experience in skin and beauty to the work.

Services are grouped into four areas. The Acne program starts with a first-visit appointment of about an hour and a half that includes a detailed consultation, a home-care routine built for the client and a gentle enzyme facial. Clients then continue with facials every two weeks, using the Face Reality line, and enrolling requires buying the Face Reality home-care products. Facials include a 150 dollar custom classic facial with warm steam, extractions and high frequency, a gua sha microcurrent facial, and an Osmosis MD microchanneling facial that uses a customized retinaldehyde blend. Hydrafacial treatments come in three tiers, Signature, Deluxe and Platinum, with the longer options aimed at fine lines, wrinkles and dryness. The BioRePeel is a 35 percent TCA peel from Italy, followed by LED therapy, and it is not offered to clients with severe acne, rosacea, or who are nursing or pregnant; the studio offers other services for those clients.

Clients who are unsure which treatment suits them can book a consultation first. The studio asks clients to plan around injectables: book a Hydrafacial five to seven days after Botox and seven to ten days after filler. Clients who have taken Accutane must have stopped it for at least a year before a Hydrafacial. Retinols, hydroquinone and tretinoin should be avoided the week before and the week after a Hydrafacial, and treated skin should be protected with at least SPF 40 while avoiding direct sun. Cancellations and rescheduling need 24 hours notice, and a 75 dollar fee applies to late cancellations and no-shows.

Consultations come first for clients who are unsure which treatment fits, and products are chosen with the individual client in mind.
